Indonesia shifts labor oversight toward risk-based prevention
Jakarta, July 28 -- Minister of Manpower Yassierli emphasized that the government is pivoting toward stronger risk management and preventive measures in overhauling labor sector oversight.
"Prevention must be at the core of efforts aimed at ensuring companies' compliance with employment norms. Therefore, it is important that we strengthen supervisory instruments to identify potential risks early," he said in a statement released in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Yassierli underscored the urgency of expanding oversight beyond enforcing compliance to preventing violations through data, technology, and cross-sector collaboration.
