Jakarta, Aug. 19 -- The Indonesian government has mobilized relief supplies weighing a total of 253 tons for quake-hit residents in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) as of Wednesday, according to Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

He said President Prabowo Subianto had instructed government aides to continue mounting efforts to ensure the timely distribution of aid to people affected by Saturday's magnitude 7.7 earthquake.

In a statement cited here from the Presidential Secretariat, Wijaya noted that the government had deployed five more aircraft carrying 65 tons of logistics to NTT from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta early Wednesday.
