Beijing, May 16 -- Indonesia views the recent meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping as a signal of stability amid global uncertainty, its envoy to China, Djauhari Oratmangun, said.

"The meeting between President Trump and President Xi is important, as it is expected to send a positive signal for global and market stability amidst uncertainty," the Indonesian ambassador to China and Mongolia stated on Saturday.

His remarks followed the leaders' talks in Beijing on Thursday (May 14), which included a visit to the Temple of Heaven and a state banquet.
