Indonesia's Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said the domestic steel industry has shown strong commitment to accelerating the transition to green steel amid rising global demand for low-emission products.

Agus said the commitment is reflected in efforts by members of the Indonesian Iron and Steel Industry Association (IISIA) to adopt greener technologies across the sector.

"Green steel - I have discussed this extensively with the IISIA chairman, and the commitment from industry players is very strong," he said in Jakarta on Friday.
