Jakarta, July 31 -- The Indonesian government estimates the Waingapu Integrated Shrimp Farming project, a national strategic initiative in East Sumba Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, will create around 7,000 jobs and produce approximately 52,000 metric tons of shrimp annually.

"Developing the integrated shrimp farming area is one of the government's efforts to bolster national food security while opening new economic opportunities for residents in eastern Indonesia," Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan noted in a statement on Friday.
