Indonesia's Sumaya advances to Asian Games teqball final
Nagoya, Sept. 19 -- Indonesia secured a place in the women's singles teqball final at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya after Sumaya defeated India's Quimcy Joaquim Dsouza 2-1 on Saturday.
Sumaya overcame Dsouza in a three-set contest, winning 7-12, 12-9, and 12-7 to secure a place in the ultimate match and move within one victory of Indonesia's first Asian Games gold medal in teqball.
She endured a rough start, falling behind 1-5 before conceding the opening set 7-12. The Indonesian contender maintained her composure in the second set and claimed the first two points, although Dsouza quickly drew level.
