Jakarta, May 20 -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said the state budget serves as a tool to protect the people and ensure public welfare.

"The state budget is not merely a state financial document. It is the embodiment of our struggle as a nation, a tool to protect the people, and an instrument to strengthen the foundations of the national economy," he said.

Prabowo made the remarks while presenting the government's Macroeconomic Framework and Fiscal Policy Principles (KEM-PPKF) during a House of Representatives (DPR) plenary session in Jakarta on Wednesday.
