Indonesia's Mount Ciremai fire extinguished after burning 46 hectares
Jakarta, Sept. 13 -- The Forestry Ministry, through the Mount Ciremai National Park Agency, confirmed on Saturday that a forest fire that burned 46.42 hectares of conservation area in West Java had been fully extinguished.
The fire, which occurred from September 7 to September 9, affected several areas, including the Simaung, Tegal Bodas, Cileutik, Jalan Maling Situmpuk, and Panjakroma blocks.
"The fire reignited several times due to wind gusts. Personnel continued firefighting and sweeping operations until they were certain that all hotspots had been completely extinguished," Head of the Mount Ciremai National Park Agency Toni Anwar said in a statement.
