Jakarta, Sept. 12 -- Indonesia recorded US$3 billion in fishery product exports during the first half of 2026, totaling 566,250 tons, as national quality certification efforts helped expand access to global markets.

Acting Head of the Marine Affairs and Fisheries Ministry's Quality Agency Ishartini said the sector's strong export performance was driven by key commodities, including vannamei shrimp, seaweed, tuna, sardines, mackerel, skipjack tuna, squid, octopus, carrageenan, grouper, and various crab species.

Indonesian fishery products are currently exported to 152 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific, Ishartini said at a press briefing in Jakarta on Saturday.
