Jakarta, June 4 -- The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources reported that Indonesia's electrification rate reached 99.832 percent in the first quarter of 2026, a slight increase from 99.831 percent recorded in 2025.

In a meeting with the House of Representatives (DPR) in Jakarta on Thursday, the ministry's Acting Director General of Electricity, Tri Winarno, said the figure reflects a significant jump from 2016, during which the electrification rate stood at 91.16 percent.

According to him, this achievement demonstrates that access to electricity is becoming a reality for more Indonesians as the country nears full electrification, with the majority of provinces having already surpassed a 95 percent electrification rate.
