Jakarta, April 25 -- Indonesia's House of Representatives (DPR) has urged the United Nations to conduct a comprehensive review of protection mechanisms for peacekeeping personnel serving with its Lebanon-assigned force, UNIFIL.

"We call on the UN to thoroughly evaluate the mandate and protection mechanisms for UNIFIL troops, adjusting to the growing security risks in the field," Deputy Speaker of DPR Commission I Sukamta noted in a statement cited in Jakarta on Saturday.

His appeal followed recent reports of the death of Indonesian UNIFIL peacekeeper Private First Class Rico Pramudia, raising the number of Indonesian soldiers killed by Israeli attacks in Lebanon in late March.
