Jakarta, April 23 -- Indonesia's National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) is developing railway technologies covering rolling stock, infrastructure, and governance to support improved transportation performance and regional growth.
BRIN Head Arif Satria said the research does not only focus on technical aspects, but also includes institutional and operational dimensions.
"There are at least three research areas: socio-institutional, passenger-related, and environmental," he said in a statement on Thursday.
He added that BRIN is encouraging the improvement of national engineering capabilities in both engines and rolling stock to accelerate effective technology transfer.
