Indonesia's aviation safety score tops global average, ministry says
Jakarta, Sept. 1 -- Indonesia's aviation safety and security performance scored 78.85 percent in an International Civil Aviation Organization audit, above the global average of 70.6 percent, the Transportation Ministry said Monday.
Transportation Ministry Director General of Civil Aviation Lukman F Laisa said the score was based on the International Civil Aviation Organization's Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP).
Lukman said the ministry was continuing to update aviation regulations to keep pace with international standards set by ICAO.
