Jakarta, April 30 -- Indonesia's Ministry of Trade has issued Trade Minister Regulation No. 11 of 2026, which restricts imports of several agricultural commodities to support the national food self-sufficiency program.
Trade Minister Budi Santoso said the regulation was promulgated on April 24, 2026, and will take effect on May 8, 2026.
"The aim is to refine import policies, maintain a balance between domestic supply and demand, protect local producer prices, and strengthen national food security," he said in a statement issued in Jakarta on Thursday.
