Jakarta, March 30 -- Indonesia recorded 147.55 million travelers during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday season, exceeding earlier projections and highlighting strong public mobility, the transport minister said on Monday.

Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi said the figure marked a 2.53 percent increase from the ministry's initial estimate of 143.92 million travelers.

"For the Eid period, the number of travelers reached 147.55 million, representing a 2.53 percent increase from our initial survey," he said after the closing of the Integrated Eid Transportation Command Center in Jakarta.

He said the higher-than-expected turnout reflected robust travel demand during the holiday season.
