Jakarta, Sept. 13 -- President Prabowo Subianto expressed readiness to enhance Indonesia's contribution to global food security as it strengthens its national food production capacity.

He conveyed this statement during the BRICS Summit at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, India.

"For years, Indonesia was a major importer of grains, rice, and corn. Now, we have become an exporter and will be able to increase our support for the rest of the world," he said as quoted from an official statement on Sunday.

He views this transformation as evidence of the potential to overcome limitations through the development and strengthening of national capabilities.
