Bekasi, Sept. 16 -- The Manpower Ministry allocated Rp1.7 trillion (US$96 million) to train hundreds of thousands of workers for green jobs, supporting Indonesia's transition to green industries through human resource development.

At the World Ozone Day event in Bekasi, West Java, on Wednesday, Minister Yassierli explained that the budget is intended to fund job training courses for 270,000 residents this year, with a focus on skills relevant to jobs that contribute to environmental sustainability.

He said it is increasingly crucial for corporations to raise awareness of environmental sustainability, underlining responsible practices in energy use, waste management, and raw material sourcing for export commodities.
