Jakarta, July 1 -- Indonesia's Ministry of Manpower reaffirmed its commitment to continuously enhancing protection services for workers, including Job-Loss Insurance (JKP) scheme for laid-off employees.

"Among the mitigation steps we are taking, the first is definitely regarding the JKP, the Job-Loss Insurance. We are continuously improving our services," Anwar Sanusi, head of the ministry's Development and Planning Agency, said in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He underscored JKP is a critical social cushion for laid-off workers, with benefits including cash assistance of 60 percent of wage for up to six months under applicable regulations, as well as access to labor market information, job training, and career counseling.
