Jakarta, May 3 -- Indonesia's Health Ministry, along with UNICEF and WHO, reaffirmed its commitment to strengthen immunization efforts as nearly 960,000 children remain unvaccinated.
Acting Director General of Disease Control Andi Saguni said strengthening routine immunization is a top priority following the COVID-19 pandemic.
"After the pandemic, our immunization coverage declined, and this is a serious concern. Routine immunization is key. We must not be complacent as the risk of outbreaks such as measles, diphtheria, and pertussis could increase," he said on Saturday.
He added that vaccine supply is secure nationwide, including for the next nine months.
