Indonesia pushes for public protection in AI development
Jakarta, May 27 -- Indonesian Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria emphasized that artificial intelligence (AI) development should not solely serve business and technology.
He stated that AI must be controlled to protect society, democracy, and the digital public space.
In his statement on Tuesday (May 26), he said that Indonesia is pushing for the development of an AI ecosystem that fosters innovation while protecting social values and democratic principles.
"For us, responsible AI means strengthening AI literacy so society and the workforce are ready to face this transformation, with the principle of leaving no one behind," Patria noted.
