Yogyakarta, April 17 -- The Indonesian government has urged stakeholders to incorporate ethical considerations into the development and use of artificial intelligence (AI).

Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria said on Friday that cases of AI misuse, such as manipulating other people's photos, may occur when the technology is used without ethical guidance.

"Therefore, we urge that the use and development of AI incorporate an ethical perspective. In other words, it must be used ethically," he said after opening the AI Talent Factory workshop at Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta.
