Denpasar, April 2 -- Minister for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI), Mukhtarudin, sent off more than 1,000 Balinese residents bound for work in Bulgaria on Thursday.
"Bulgaria is one of the countries that we have designated as a migrant worker placement destination following assessments. Today, we are sending off 1,000 prospective migrant workers who will undergo predeparture orientation," he remarked in Denpasar City, Bali.
Mukhtarudin explained that the P2MI Ministry declared Bulgaria a suitable destination based on its relatively strong worker protection and social security system, competitive wages, and stable security conditions.
