Jakarta, Sept. 10 -- Indonesia has expressed its support for the election of Bangladeshi Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman as President of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) for the 81st session.

Indonesian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Vahd Nabyl A. Mulachela stated in Jakarta on Thursday that Indonesia hopes the mandates established for the UNGA over the coming year will be successfully implemented under Rahman's leadership.

"Certainly, the election of the Bangladeshi Foreign Minister as UNGA President means he will oversee the various mandates that must be carried out over the next year," Nabyl said during a press briefing.
