Jakarta, July 15 -- Indonesia's State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said the government will "optimize management of the Sultan Hotel area to increase state revenue" following a June court ruling that returned the asset to state control after years of dispute.

Speaking at a parliamentary hearing, Prasetyo confirmed coordination with the state investment body BPI Danantara to redesign the site's use.

He reported the asset was formally reclaimed on 18 June 2026, ending an eight-year legal battle.

"The court declared the Sultan Hotel belongs to the state, with third-party management concluded," he told lawmakers.

He added that the eviction process is ongoing and expected to take one month before the property is handed to Danantara.
