Situbondo, Sept. 19 -- Indonesia's Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has confirmed plans to expand the Integrated National School (SNT) program to Situbondo District, East Java, as part of efforts to improve access to quality education.

Director General of Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, and Non-Formal Education Gogot Suharwoto urged the Situbondo administration to prepare a 20-hectare site for the ministry to build the planned school.

"Let us hope that construction of an integrated national school will begin next year," he said while attending the launch of a child character-building movement in Situbondo on Saturday.
