Jakarta, July 7 -- The Ministry of Communication and Digital has underscored the importance of developing national compute clusters as a key driver of Indonesia's competitiveness in the artificial intelligence (AI) industry.

Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria said Indonesia must move beyond being merely a technology user by expanding its computing capacity and strengthening its pool of digital talent.

"We need two important strategies. The first is strengthening our position in AI infrastructure development. The second is strengthening our position in compute clusters, including enhancing Indonesia's digital talent pool so we can compete more effectively in the global landscape," he said in a statement on Tuesday....
