Jakarta, April 7 -- The Indonesian government will discuss a proposal to cut ministers' salaries in the coming days as part of budget efficiency efforts, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said.
Speaking at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, Teddy said the plan would be discussed further in an upcoming meeting.
"The proposals will be discussed in the next few days," he said, stressing that no decision has been made.
"We'll see. No decision has been made," he added, while telling reporters to ask those who first raised the idea.
Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has expressed support for the proposal, though he said the final decision rests with President Prabowo Subianto.
