Indonesia moves to strengthen defense ties with Turkiye, Malaysia
Jakarta, July 22 -- Indonesia ratified defense cooperation agreements with Turkiye and Malaysia on Tuesday, giving the partnerships stronger legal footing for implementation, Law Minister Supratman Andi Agtas said Wednesday.
Indonesia has maintained defense partnerships with both countries based on equality and mutual benefit, Agtas said in a statement in Jakarta.
The cooperation covers capacity building, information sharing and efforts to strengthen Indonesia's defense industry, he said.
Indonesia signed a defense cooperation agreement with Turkiye in Bali on Nov. 14, 2022, and a memorandum of understanding with Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur on Aug. 9, 2022.
