Jakarta, Aug. 3 -- The Indonesian government is mapping the concentration of rare earth elements (REEs) in mineral exports, such as nickel and copper, to provide certainty for investors amid a revision of regulations governing REE content limits.

"It is currently being thoroughly mapped so that investors operating in the industry can continue their business seamlessly," Indonesian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia said to reporters here on Monday.

He explained that there are currently no registered industries in Indonesia dedicated specifically to managing and processing rare earth elements, prompting the government's efforts to develop the sector.
