Jakarta, April 1 -- Statistics Indonesia (BPS) reported a trade surplus of US$1.27 billion in February 2026, marking 70 consecutive months of surplus since May 2020.

Speaking at a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday, BPS Deputy for Distribution and Service Statistics Ateng Hartono said the cumulative surplus for January-February 2026 reached US$2.23 billion.

Hartono said the surplus was driven by non-oil and gas commodities, while the oil and gas sector remained in deficit.

"The January-February 2026 surplus was supported by a US$5.42 billion surplus in non-oil and gas, while oil and gas recorded a US$3.19 billion deficit," he said.
