Jakarta, March 7 -- Indonesia's Ministry of Transportation has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring travel safety ahead of the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming season by conducting ramp checks on 32,760 public transport units across various modes nationwide.

Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi said he had instructed ministry officers to consistently carry out ramp checks in accordance with applicable procedures to ensure that only roadworthy vehicles serve travelers during the Eid homecoming period.

"Such measures are essential to enhance safety and prevent accidents during the homecoming period," he said in Jakarta on Friday night, March 6.
