Jakarta, May 27 -- Culture Minister Fadli Zon has discussed transferring ownership of the Papua Museum in Gelnhausen, Germany, to the Indonesian government with museum owner Werner Weiglein.

According to a ministry statement confirmed on Wednesday, the discussion took place during a meeting between Zon and Weiglein at the Culture Ministry's office in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The minister said the ministry's Museum and Cultural Heritage Board of Trustees would be involved in the museum transfer process.

He also called for deeper consultations with relevant parties to gather input on transferring the museum and Weiglein's collection of more than 1,700 objects.
