Jakarta, July 28 -- Indonesia is importing oil from Russia under a government-to-government (G2G) cooperation scheme in an effort to strengthen energy security, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia has affirmed.

"The goal is to maintain our reserves, preventing shortages while ensuring adequate supplies for domestic needs," he told the press at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Bahlil highlighted that implementation of the oil deal is already underway, adding that the government is committed to sustaining the cooperation.
