Jakarta, March 13 -- Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita stated that Indonesia has a strategic opportunity to become a hub for the fashion industry, particularly modest fashion, supported by strong domestic industrial ecosystems and large global market potential.

In a statement released in Jakarta on Friday, the minister noted that the continued growth of the global Muslim population has significantly contributed to the expansion of the Muslim fashion market, commonly referred to as modest fashion.

He added that the rapid flow of information through social media has made modest fashion trends more inclusive, with products now being worn not only by Muslims but also by a broader range of consumers.
