Jakarta, May 3 -- Indonesia's Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries announced that 65 Red and White Fishing Villages (KNMP) have been fully completed and are ready for operation.
"Phase I construction across 65 locations reached 100 percent completion by the end of April 2026," said Trian Yunanda, head of the KNMP construction coordination team, on Saturday.
Following completion, the ministry issued Ministerial Decree No. 20 of 2026 on the KNMP Operational Task Force to ensure the program runs in a focused, systematic, and efficient manner.
Yunanda said the task force will oversee operational readiness to ensure facilities are used optimally by coastal communities.
