Jakarta, Sept. 14 -- Indonesia's Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs has finalized a sanctions mechanism and strict fines, including penalties of up to 6 percent of global revenue for multinational technology firms, for platforms that violate new child protection regulations.

The financial penalties, designed to enforce Government Regulation No. 17 of 2025 on Child Protection in Electronic Systems, known locally as PP TUNAS, target non-compliant digital platforms, particularly eight services flagged as high-risk: YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, Bigo Live and Roblox
