Indonesia eyes US$2.8 billion windfall from dormant criminal funds
Jakarta, May 13 -- Indonesia will receive an additional Rp49 trillion (US$2.8 billion) of state funds from unmanaged corruptors' money in bank accounts, President Prabowo Subianto revealed on Wednesday.
"Next month, there will be approximately Rp49 trillion (of state funds recovered)," Prabowo said at the handover ceremony of the administrative fines and state financial rescue at the Attorney General's Office, Jakarta.
Prabowo revealed that he has received a report regarding the planned transfer of approximately Rp11 trillion to the state treasury next month.
In addition, authorities have identified approximately Rp39 trillion in funds allegedly originating from corruptors or criminal activities that have remained unmanaged for years....
