Jakarta, June 5 -- Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono has proposed including chicken eggs among the commodities distributed through the government's food assistance program to help absorb farmers' production when prices decline.

According to him, the measure could help maintain market balance while protecting farmers from excessively low prices.

"Addressing this issue is actually not difficult. In the future, food assistance will not only consist of rice and cooking oil. It could also include commodities such as chicken meat or eggs when prices are falling," Sudaryono said on Friday.
