Jakarta, March 9 -- Indonesia's Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) has declared its resolve to foster a more enabling ecosystem for the national halal industry to thrive, with a focus on empowering border regions.

BPJPH Secretary Muhammad Aqil Irham said in a statement received here on Monday that the agency recognizes border regions' vast economic potential, citing their role as a window into the country's strength in halal products.

"Border regions serve as the front porch of Indonesia. The products circulating in those regions are not only consumed by local residents; they also have the potential to reach markets across the borders," he remarked.
