Indonesia encourages APEC members to join World Mangrove Center
Jakarta, July 30 -- Indonesia is calling on Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) member countries to strengthen cooperation on mangrove conservation through the World Mangrove Center (WMC).
This was conveyed by Laksmi Wijayanti, Director General of Sustainable Forest Management at the Ministry of Forestry, representing Indonesia at the 2026 APEC Ministerial Meeting on Forestry in Shenzhen, China, earlier this week.
In a statement on Thursday, Wijayanti said the WMC serves as a global collaboration platform that brings together governments, research institutions, international organisations, civil society, and other stakeholders to promote sustainable mangrove management.
