Jakarta, Oct. 10 -- Indonesia has secured an annual southern bluefin tuna catch quota of 1,670 tons for the 2027-2029 period, up 25 percent from the previous 1,336 tons, the Marine Affairs and Fisheries Ministry announced.

The increased quota was approved at the 33rd Annual Meeting of the Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna (CCSBT) in Brussels, Belgium, on Oct. 8. Indonesia may also receive up to 1,500 additional tons from unused quotas allocated to other commission members.
