Beijing, Sept. 19 -- Chairman of Indonesia's National Economic Council (DEN) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan discussed the debt repayment mechanism for Jakarta-Bandung "Whoosh" High-Speed Railway with China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) during his visit to China this week.

"We cannot just let this issue linger, as it will be to our detriment. There must be technical follow-ups," Pandjaitan told ANTARA here on Friday following his meeting with NDRC Chairman Zheng Shanjie.

Pandjaitan, who previously oversaw the railway's development as Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment from 2016 to 2024, noted that his familiarity with the project's details is aiding the current negotiations on the debt structure.
