Indonesia, April 11 -- Jakarta (ANTARA) -

Indonesia's Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said the government is discussing electric vehicle (EV) incentives with regulators and industry players, with details still under review as it seeks to accelerate adoption.

Purbaya said talks with the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo) have included proposals for incentives for electric cars, though no final scheme has been agreed upon.

"Gaikindo invited us not only to an auto exhibition but also to discuss what incentives may be needed for electric cars," he told reporters at the Attorney General's Office in Jakarta on Friday.

He added that the talks are ongoing and will continue as the government evaluates options.
