Jakarta, May 13 -- Trade Minister Budi Santoso confirmed that imports of naphtha, the main raw material for plastic resin, are scheduled to arrive in mid-May 2026.

He explained that the arrival of the raw material follows the needs of industry players who had previously experienced supply constraints.

"It will arrive mid-May. I will update you again later," Santoso said here on Wednesday.

According to him, the government continues to monitor developments in raw material supplies to maintain the sustainability of production in the domestic plastic manufacturing sector.

Santoso also informed that the plastic raw materials arriving in mid-May will come from the United States.
