Jakarta, May 24 -- Indonesia and 17 other countries strongly condemned the Somaliland region's move to open a purported embassy in occupied Jerusalem.

"This constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and relevant UN resolutions, and represents a direct infringement on the legal and historical status of occupied Jerusalem," Indonesia's Foreign Ministry said on X on Sunday.

The condemnation was issued by the foreign ministers of Indonesia and 17 other countries, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Turkiye, Pakistan, Somalia, Palestine, and Kuwait.
