Indonesia condemns Israeli interception of Gaza-bound flotilla
Jakarta, May 19 -- Indonesia's Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid condemned the Israeli military's interception of the Gaza-bound Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) 2.0 mission, which reportedly included three Indonesian journalists.
The journalists were identified as Bambang Noroyono and Thoudy Badai from Republika, and Andre Prasetyo Nugroho of Tempo.
"We are deeply concerned about reports involving Indonesian journalists currently covering the humanitarian mission to Gaza," Meutya said in a statement received on Tuesday.
According to Indonesia's Foreign Ministry, at least 10 vessels participating in the mission were intercepted by Israeli authorities.
