Indonesia closely monitors China's long-range ballistic missile test
Jakarta, July 10 -- Indonesia's Foreign Ministry stated that it is closely monitoring China's long-range ballistic missile test earlier this week, while emphasizing that the test was within China's rights.
"Indonesia is paying close attention to the ballistic missile test," Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Yvonne Mewengkang stated during a press briefing on Thursday.
She noted that international law does not prohibit the ownership of ballistic missiles or their testing, as carried out by Beijing.
Beijing has also issued a notification about the missile test, she said, while describing it as an important confidence-building measure to ensure transparency for the international community.
