Jakarta, April 16 -- Indonesia's National Nutrition Agency (BGN) reported that 13,576 kitchens operating under the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program had passed hygiene and sanitation certification as of April 15, with the rest expected to follow by August.
BGN Deputy Head for Public Communication and Investigations Nanik S. Deyang said that the number represents 52.37 percent of the total of 25,929 operational MBG kitchens-officially known as nutrition fulfillment service units (SPPGs)-and 81.39 percent of those already registered for certification.
"I have set a target for all SPPGs to register for the process by June and to obtain hygiene and sanitation certificates by August," she remarked in Jakarta on Thursday.
