Jakarta, April 11 -- The Indonesian government called on international organizations to establish global standards for the governance of music and song royalty collection and distribution to ensure transparency and accountability.
These organizations are the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC), and the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI).
"The Indonesian government will not be directly involved in royalty management, but will act as a regulator overseeing its governance," Indonesian Minister of Law, Supratman Andi Agtas, said while opening the ASEAN Collective Management Organizations (CMO) Forum 2026 in Bali on Friday.
