Sorong, April 27 -- The Housing and Settlements Ministry announced the allocation of 3,000 housing units for Southwest Papua under a 2026 subsidy program to improve affordability.

"This is part of the government's policy designed to elevate community welfare through the provision of decent housing," PKP Minister Maruarar Sirait stated on Monday.

The minister remarked during an official visit to Sorong, Southwest Papua, that cross sector collaboration is essential to ensure the program strictly serves those in need.

He noted that the ministry is partnering with Public Housing Savings Management Agency (BP Tapera) and local business professionals to boost the quality of housing in the region.
